Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers for Line Plumping Juvederm Ultra ®, Teosyal ®, Restylane ®

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Youthful skin is rich in hyaluronic acid - a substance that binds water, hydrates the skin and promotes the softness and fullness of the face.  As we age the hyaluronic acid becomes less efficient, leading to loss of volume and facial wrinkles. Used widely in general medicine, it is estimated that over 30 million people have been treated with hyaluronic acid.

Brands such as Juvederm Ultra®, Teosyal® and Restylane® are known as dermal fillers and contain non-animal derived hyaluronic acid.  The newer brands of dermal fillers give softer results and cause less discomfort and bruising to our clients.

What happens during treatment and how long does it take?

Initial discussion with your practitioner should clearly set out expectations of treatment  and achievable results. During your initial consultation your full medical history will be noted.  Dermal fillers are injected into the areas which require plumping out and are used especially to fill the nose to mouth lines and mouth to chin lines as well as being used to produce shapely and fuller lips.  A topical anaesthetic cream or a lidocaine injection may be given prior to the injectable procedure to reduce discomfort.  The treatment takes 15-30 minutes and most people can return to work immediately after the procedure.  Full written aftercare instructions will be given to you following your procedure.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects are rare but can include transient erythema (redness), swelling, pain, itching, bruising and discoloration at the injection site.  Typically resolution is spontaneous or within one to two days of treatment.  Severe allergic reactions, although very rare, can occur.

Who should not have this treatment?

Clients who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have history of severe allergies should not have this treatment.  Some connective tissue disorders may also cause a higher risk of side effects.

How long do the results last?

Hyaluronic acid treatments commonly last  between 6 - 12 months, sometimes longer.  As hyaluronic acid is completely broken down over a period of months, re-treatment is required to maintain results.

What is VOLUMA treatment?

Juvederm VOLUMA has been specially developed to have a high lift capacity to restore deep volume loss in the cheek and chin areas using the hydrating properties of hyaluronic acid but in a smooth, long-lasting formulation allowing contouring for a fuller, youthful shape and firmness.  The results can be seen within 30 minutes and can last up to 18 months.

What is the cost?

Prices for dermal fillers from £210 - £315 depending on amount of product required.

Prices for Juvederm VOLUMA treatment £500 for 1ml, £900 for 2mls.

Hi, I would just like to thank Kerry again for carrying out my lip fillers on Saturday. I was extremely nervous and anxious but she made me feel completely at ease, the whole experience for me was so comfortable and pain free! I have had very minimal swelling/bruising if at all any, which is fab! I will definitely be seeing you again and will highly recommend your clinic. I love my new NATURAL lips! I have so much more confidence now.
